This Privacy Policy explains how Kobytool ("Kobytool", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit kobytool.com and use the free browser-based tools we provide (the "Service"). We have designed Kobytool to be privacy-first: the overwhelming majority of what our tools do happens entirely on your own device.

1. Information we collect

We collect as little information as possible. Depending on how you use the Service, this may include:

• Content you process in our tools. When you use a tool — for example to build a resume, generate an invoice, resize an image, or format JSON — the files, text, and data you provide are processed locally in your browser. This content is not transmitted to, or stored on, Kobytool's servers.
• Preferences stored on your device. We use your browser's localStorage to remember non-personal preferences such as your chosen language (English or 中文), light/dark theme, and whether you have unlocked Pro for a given tool. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us.
• Purchase information (only if you buy Pro). If you choose to make an optional one-time Pro purchase, the transaction is handled by our payment processor, Creem. We receive limited confirmation details (such as the fact that a purchase succeeded and an associated order/email reference) so we can grant your Pro unlock and provide support. We never receive or store your full card number — card data is handled entirely by Creem.
• Communications. If you email us at support@kobytool.com, we receive your email address and the contents of your message so we can respond.
• Limited technical data. Our hosting provider, Vercel, may automatically process standard server and security logs (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) for the purpose of delivering the site, preventing abuse, and ensuring reliability.

2. How we use information

We use the limited information described above only to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service and its tools;
• Remember your preferences and your Pro unlock status on your device;
• Process optional one-time Pro purchases and deliver what you paid for;
• Respond to your support requests and communications;
• Maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the website and prevent fraud or abuse;
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content you process in our tools for advertising or to train models.

3. Local processing & storage

Kobytool's tools are designed to run client-side. This means the actual work — generating a document, editing an image, converting a file, calculating a result — is performed by code executing inside your own web browser. Your source files do not leave your device as part of normal tool use, and we have no access to them.

The only data persisted between visits is stored locally via localStorage (preferences and Pro status). You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser's site data for kobytool.com.

4. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted third parties to operate Kobytool. Each has its own privacy practices:

• Creem — our payment processor. When you make an optional Pro purchase, Creem securely collects and processes your payment details. Please review Creem's own privacy policy for how they handle that data.
• Vercel — our hosting and content-delivery provider. Vercel serves the website to you and may process standard technical logs as described above.
• Google Fonts — used to load typefaces. Your browser may request font files from Google's servers when loading the page.

5. Cookies & analytics

Kobytool does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies, and we run minimal or no analytics. We use only essential browser storage (localStorage) to remember your preferences and Pro status, as described above. Our payment processor or hosting provider may set cookies that are strictly necessary to complete a transaction or secure the site.

6. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of it; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR applies; if you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA applies, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. Because we hold very little personal data, in many cases the data we can act on is limited to records related to a Pro purchase or your support emails. 7. Data retention

Preferences and Pro status stored in localStorage remain on your device until you clear them. Purchase records held by us or by Creem are retained only as long as necessary to provide the Service, support your purchase, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to assist you and maintain our records.

8. Children's privacy

Kobytool is a general-audience website and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including serving the site exclusively over HTTPS and relying on reputable providers (Vercel, Creem) for hosting and payments. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be made clearly available on this page. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
